Talk for Accenture-India on the ‘Importance of Organ Donation and How Millennials can Help’

  • On 20th August 2018 Accenture-India invited MOHAN Foundation to be a part of a series of events that they were hosting to celebrate the spirit of Corporate Social Responsibility. Accenture is a leading global professional services company in India providing a range of services and solutions in strategy, consulting, digital, technology and operations.

     

    Dr. Sumana Navin, Course Director, MOHAN Foundation spoke on 'Why is organ donation important and how can millennials help'. The venue for the talk was Accenture, Shriram, The Gateway SEZ, New Perungalathur, Chennai, but in total there were about 450 employees from Accenture across Bangalore, Pune, and Chennai that listened to the talk on a Skype video call. The Accenture Financial Services Technology team in Chennai comprising Ms. Viji Krishnamurthy, Mr. Debi Prasad Datta, and Mr. V. Saravana Kumar facilitated the event.

     

    Mr. Suraj Ayilliath, Managing Director – Financial Services Technology, Accenture – India, who is based in Bengaluru, was instrumental in organising the talk stemming out of his keen interest in the topic. As part of an Innovation contest, within Accenture for solving societal problems, Mr. Ayilliath and his team built a technology solution that addressed lacunae in the current Organ Donation and Transplantation life cycle. Key areas that they addressed included: 1) Current lack of awareness of this topic among the citizens of India 2) Impediments to speed of execution of donation and transplantation 3) Lack of trust in the overall process. Their team got the ‘People Choice’ award in the contest. As Mr. Ayilliath said, “This is a reflection of how our people think of this topic as an important one.”
