On September 15, 2023, a compelling street play on organ donation was organized at the Urban Health and Training Centre (UHTC) in Bandra. This event was a collaborative effort between the UHTC and the Community Medicine students, staff of JJ Hospital and Transplant coordinator Shamika Singh. The aim of the street play was to raise awareness about the critical importance of organ donation and encourage community members to consider becoming organ donors.
The primary objective of the street play was to disseminate information about organ donation and dispel common misconceptions and fears surrounding the topic. The specific goals included:
· Educating the community about the significance of organ donation in saving lives.
· Addressing myths and concerns related to organ donation.
· Encouraging community members to register as organ donors
