  On 26^th January, 2022, on the occasion of Republic day Mr. Sachin Lonkar a candidate from Municipal Corporation of Ekata Mata Nagar, Pravag, invited Mr. Bulu Behera to put up a stall on organ donation at Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hall. The program started at 10 a.m. and Mr. Behera organized a stall with MOHAN Foundation’s donor card, brochures, pledge forms, standees and banners.

  During this event Mr. Bulu addressed the audience about MOHAN Foundation and its activities.

  He then discussed the following topics on organ donation

  1. Concept of organ donation
  2. Types of death- Brain death, Circulatory death
  3. Within what duration of time the tissues should be donated?
  4. Which organs and tissues can be donated after brain death?
  5. Donor card
  6. MOHAN Foundation and its helpline number was shared with the audience
  7. THO Act
  8. Information about ROTTO-SOTTO, ZTCC, NOTTO was shared with the participants, which was new to them

   

  Questions asked during the session

  1. Where is MOHAN Foundation's office in Nagpur?
  2. After a person’s death, how will anyone come to know that the person has pledged his organs?
  3. What is bone marrow? When is bone marrow transplant required?

   

  Around 60 participants participated in the session. The session motivated 10 participants to pledge their organs. This session on organ donation was appreciated by everyone. They thanked Mr. Bulu for educating them about organ donation and its concepts, which was much needed to them.

   

  We thank Mr. Sachin Lonkar for giving us an opportunity to create awareness about organ donation among the general public and supporting the noble cause of organ donation.
