A seminar was organised by KLE hospital on 23rd July 2019 in the Anubhav Mantap hall of the hospital in Belgavi. Dr.Kishore Phadke (Convenor - Jeevasarthakathe) and Mr. Shridhar Hanchinal, Director - MOHAN Foundation were invited. Around 35 people were present on the occasion.
The seminar began with a welcome address by Dr. Richards and Dr. Nerli (Transplant Head and Medical Director). This was followed by Dr. M.V. Jali (Medical Director and Chief Executive - KLES Dr Prabhakar Kore Hospital) introducing Dr. Kishore Phadke to the audience.
Dr. Kishore Phadke spoke about the protocol followed by the hospitals during deceased donations. He then explained the duties of transplant coordinators, ICU staff and the role of administrators to during these donations. He also explained the role of Jeevasarthakathe and the system for allocation of organs. Transplant coordinators of MOHAN Foundation and Jeevasarthakathe were introduced as well.
The session was very interesting as it was highly interactive. Dr. Jali thanked Dr. Phadke and Mr.Shridhar for sparing their valuable time to address the audience.
