In continuation of the World Kidney Day celebrations, The Department of Nephrology, MMM Hospital organised a free film screening “Aye Zindagi- life finds a way” on 25 March 2023 at 2:00PM. This was a joint effort along with MOHAN Foundation Chennai. The venue was the 400seater Auditorium at MMM Hospital, Students of MMM College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences were invited as well as doctors and well-wishers of MOHAN Foundation. It was a packed auditorium.
MOHAN Foundation put up an information desk to create awareness on organ donation and transplantation. The desk had a standee, information brochures, green ribbons and registration forms and donor cards. All the students were given a green ribbon.
The screening began with an interaction of kidney health by Dr Sanjeev Nair. Ms Revathy- the main lead in the movie came on Zoom and explained the way the movie was made, without revealing any of the story. Dr Sunil Shroff conducted the interactions.
Based on an incredible true story, Aye Zindagi is a Hindi-language film starring veteran South actress and 3-time National Film Award winner Revathy in the lead role. The film features pan-Indian actors, such as Satyajeet Dubey, Mrinmayee Godbole, written and directed by nephrologist Dr Anirban Bose. The film is produced by Shiladitya Bora of Platoon films. It is based on the life of MOHAN Foundation, Country Director Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram.
There was not a single person in the audience who was not moved by the story. Everyone was very much effected. Around 25 people pledged to become organ donors at the end of the movie.
MMM Hospital felicitated Dr Sunil Shroff and Dr Hemal Kanvinde for their work on Organ Donation. MOHAN Foundation thanks the Management of MMM and Dr Rajeevalochana for her efforts in celebrating World Kidney Month with the screening of the movie and making the auditorium available.
