On March 14, 2026, MOHAN Foundation organized SAMARTHAN 2026 – A Soulful Sufi Night with Kashif Nizami at Craft Village, Gadaipur, Delhi. The event aimed to raise funds for Anudaan, MOHAN Foundation’s initiative to support underprivileged children in need of life-saving organ transplants.
Craft Village is a vibrant initiative dedicated to strengthening India’s craft heritage by creating a cultural and creative ecosystem where art, craft, design, commerce, and community come together. The space features “Pradarshini”, an exhibition gallery for art and craft, “Yogi Kutir”, an interactive studio for workshops and residencies, and “Galeecha”, an open-air garden for showcasing sculptures and large-format craft works—together fostering creativity, collaboration, and artisan empowerment.
Kashif Nizami is a distinguished Sufi vocalist rooted in the rich traditions of Indian and South Asian Sufi music. Born into a musical family, he was introduced to music at an early age by his father, a highly respected instrumentalist. Inspired by the legendary Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Kashif’s music blends classical technique with profound emotional expression.
The evening commenced with a warm welcome by Ms. Pallavi Kumar, Executive Director, MOHAN Foundation, NCR, followed by an address by Dr. Sunil Shroff, Managing Trustee, MOHAN Foundation. A significant highlight of the event was the felicitation of donor families and Anudaan recipient families, making it both moving and memorable.
The stories shared by these remarkable individuals were deeply touching, reflecting immense courage, compassion, and selflessness. Families, in the face of profound loss, made the noble decision to donate their loved ones’ organs, offering hope and a new lease on life to others. Parents who endured the unimaginable loss of their children, individuals who chose generosity over grief, and transplant recipients whose lives were renewed—all came together in a powerful and emotional tribute to the spirit of giving.
Dr. Anurag Shrimal, Director, HPB Surgery and Liver Transplant at Gleneagles Hospitals, Mumbai, was felicitated at the event. He attended the event as a representative of one of Anudaan’s partnering hospitals.
Dr. Anurag Gupta, Senior Consultant, Neurosurgery, Max Healthcare, and Surgeon Captain (Dr.) Malvinder Singh Sahi, ex-serviceman and anesthesiologist, were felicitated for their inspiring support to Anudaan. Both participated in marathons to raise funds for children in need of life-saving organ transplants, with Dr. Gupta securing the third-highest position among fundraisers and Dr. Sahi dedicating his run to a child awaiting a second chance at life.
The evening reached its crescendo with an enthralling performance by Kashif Nizami, whose soulful Sufi music captivated the audience. The event was attended by leading doctors from transplant centers in NCR, supporters of the cause, and distinguished guests, making it a truly memorable experience.
