Public Education Kiosk on Organ Donation at Mphasis Limited, Chennai

  • On 10th October, 2013 a public education kiosk was set up at Mphasis Limited, Chennai. The stall was manned by Mr. Prakash K, Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation, Chennai and Mr. Ashok R, Trainee Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation, Chennai. They interacted with the employees who visited the stall and clarified their doubts about organ donation and helped those interested in signing the donor card.

     

    During their interaction they explained to them about the types of donors; difference between natural death and brain death; difference between brain death and coma; organs that can be donated; the amount of time organs can be preserved before transplantation; and the importance of signing the donor card.

     

    There were a good number of employees who visited the stall and eagerly showed their support for the case. Around 40 of them picked up the donor card and also promised to spread awareness about the issue among their friends and family.
