On January 19, 2022, Organ Donation Ambassador Ms Sandhya Agarwal, National Chairperson, Organ, Body, Eye & Blood Donation, Akhil Bharatiya Marwari Mahila Sammelan (ABMMS) made an online mock presentation on organ donation. Other members of ABMMS representing their districts namely Rourkela, Bargarh, Baleswar, Saintala & Brahmapur from the state of Odisha, members from New Delhi, Nagpur and Kolkata participated in the practice online session.
The objective of the practice session was to empower these ambassadors to independently organize and conduct a public awareness session on their own. The session was moderated by Dr. Muneet Kaur Sahi, Programme Manager, MF NCR office.
On December 20 & 21, 2021, the members had undergone a 2-day online Organ Donation Ambassador training with MOHAN Foundation. The training addressed the following areas: - basic concepts of organ donation & transplantation, legal & ethical aspects and religion & organ donation. It also included interactions with the experts in the field and activities that enabled deeper empathy and appreciation towards the cause.
Dr. Muneet gave feedback on the basis of the content, validity & accuracy of the information shared by the presenter with the audience. Style of presentation and connect with the audience was also observed. Inputs were given as to how to become effective speakers.
Close to 16 members attended the session.
