


Government Ayurveda College, Nandanvan, Nagpur, conducted an awareness program on organ donation and transplantation on August 31, 2016.Dr.Ravi Wankhede, Director, MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur delivered an audio-visual talk. Program officers Dr. Govind Asati and Dr. Prasad Deshpande were present during the talk.
The audio-visual talk gave information about the concept of organ donation. He stressed the importance of organ donation after brain death, which organs and tissues could be donated and after natural death. The role of ZTCC and MOHAN Foundation in Organ transplant and legal aspects of donation and transplantation was explained.
After the talk, students raised the following queries:
1. After donation any financial help to donor family?
2. How will MOHAN Foundation be informed of my death?
3. What is the process of eye donation?
4. What is the process of organ distribution?
Approximately 200 students and staff were present. More than 100 students signed the ZTCC consent form.
