MOHAN Foundation was invited by Ms. Deepa Shah for conducting an awareness talk at Rustomjee Academy for Globar Careers, Thane, for their students and teachers on 30th September 2019.
Mrs. Jaya Jairam conducted the awareness talk whereby she address the crowd of 100 students and a few teachers about the concepts of organ donation, why it was the need of the hour and where India stood on the global map of organ donation. She then went on to discuss the various myths and beliefs which led to low organ donation rate in the country.
The students were encouraged to discuss these concepts with their parents and were distributed informative fliers. Around 18 persons, including a few students who were of legal age and the teachers, availed of the donor cards.
We convey our gratitude to Mr. Vaibhav Patil, the Incharge at the centre and Ms. Deepa Shah for conducting the event and taking it upon themselves to spread awareness amongst the youth.
