On 09th June 2018, Mr. Dinesh Shende, police SI, Dhantoli police station, Nagpur invited MOHAN Foundation, to give a talk on Deceased Organ Donation and Transplantation.
Mr. Bulu Behera Transplant Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur center gave a talk on organ donation. In his talk he gave information type of deaths, what is natural death, tissues that can be donated after natural death; Brain stem death and organs and tissues that can be donated after brain stem death; the need for green corridor during transportation of organ and the role of police during deceased organ donation. He also spoke of the activities of MOHAN Foundation and the importance of donor card, how it helps to the people to speak about organ donation, the value of wearing helmet while riding.
He requested them to visit the MOHAN Foundation website and call the helpline number for any more queries. During the session 18 police personnel were present and 2 of them signed consent form and picked their donor cards.
