
An organ donation awareness programme was organized by the Management of Vadamalayan Institute of Nursing on 25.03.2017, at the college conference hall from 10.00 am to 1.30pm. Nearly 60 students participated in this programme some of MBA students also participate in the program. Mr. S. Venkatesh began with a Q and A session to gauge their understanding of the topic.
Mr. S.Venkatesh, Transplant Coordinator, Government Rajaji Hospital, Madurai special addressed the participants on the following - concepts of organ donation and transplantation, brain death, clinical tests, early identification of brain death, Grief counselling and also about our transplant coordinator training program, need of deceased organ donation, myths and misconceptions and the legal aspects of organ donation and transplantation this session took place for more than 3 hours with more interaction with students and faculty.
Everyone pledged for organ donation and picked a donor card. They also said that they will discuss this message with their families and friends. As Transplant Coordinator I thank to college principle and faculty, the organizing team and all the students who participated in the programme
