On 27th September 2023, organ donation awareness desk and street play was organised by Mr. Jagdish Borude, transplant coordinator, MOHAN foundation at Vinayak Ganesh Mandal, Pune on the occasion of Ganesh Festival. The talk was coordinated by Mr Sanjay Phophalia, President, Vinayak Ganesh Mandal, Narayan Peth.
The main aim of this program was to spread awareness and sensitise general Public about organ and body donation.
The street Play was organised by SNDT college students with the collaboration of Karve Institute, Pune. The information Desk was set at the Ganesh Mandal along with Street Play.
Following Questions were asked by people who came to pledge as an organ donor.
1.Is body handed to family after organ donation?
2.Can cancer survivor person donate organs?
3.Will 80year old person donate kidney?
4.Can cataract surgery patient donate eyes?
5.Is organ donation happen when death happens at home?
6.Whats the process of eye donation?
7.What is the process of Body donation?
Mr Jagdish along with volunteers answered all the questions asked by people. The motive of the program was to create awareness to general Public about organ and body donation.There were 50 people who took pledge as an organ donor.At the end of the program,Mr Sanjay Phophalia, President, Vinayak Ganesh Mandal,felicitated MrJagdish Borude.
