MOHAN Foundation conducted an impactful awareness program on Organ and Tissue Donation on December 19, 2025, at Toshniwal Hyvac Pvt. Ltd. Industries, Ambattur. The initiative, led by Intern Ms. Riya and Program Executive Ms. Kanishka, was split into two strategic sessions held between 11:00 am and 12:30 pm. The primary objective was to debunk common misconceptions and educate the workforce on the life-saving potential of deceased donation and the legal frameworks surrounding it. This dual-track approach ensured that both management and labor staff left with a comprehensive understanding of how they can contribute to the cause of organ donation.
The first session targeted 20 administrative and working officials. Following an introductory address and the felicitation of Ms. Jenifer from Toshniwal, the speakers delved into technical and legal nuances. Ms. Kanishka provided a detailed overview of cornea donation, while Ms. Riya covered the broader spectrum of organ donation and relevant legislation. To keep the atmosphere engaging, short films were screened, followed by a discussion on how popular cinema often perpetuates myths. The session was highly interactive, with participants raising points such as: "When can skin donation be done and where is it used?" and "How will donations be done after death, who will come, and what is the exact process?"
The second session was tailored for 30 factory laborers in the open space, focusing on clear, accessible communication regarding the importance of organ and tissue donation. Ms. Riya delivered a concise talk emphasizing the humanitarian impact, and educational pamphlets were distributed to all participants to ensure lasting awareness. A significant highlight of the program was when Mr. Sarathi came forward to pledge his organs, demonstrating the deep impact of the session.
