Organ Donation talk conducted at Aurous Hospital, Medical square, Nagpur

  • On 29th November 2022, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mrs. Priyanka Kale-H.R. of Aurous Hospital, Nagpur. This program was conducted for nursing staff of this hospital.

    Mr. Behera was the speaker for the day. He introduced himself and MOHAN Foundation and discussed the below details:

    • What is organ donation and who can donate organ?
    • Type of Death – Natural death and Brain death.
    • Difference between coma and brain death.
    • In case of Brain death which organ and tissues can be donate?
    • In case of Natural death which tissues can be donate.
    • What is the age limit for organ donation?
    • Information about body donation, hand transplant, eye donation was discussed

    Finally, he discussed about Helpline number, Donor card and its importance and motivated everyone to pledge their organs.

    Questions asked by the audience were as follows:

    1. How to counsel brain dead patient’s family?
    2. What can a brain dead person donate?
    3. Legal formality for organ donation?

    Close to 30 participants were present for the session and 6 of them signed the consent form.
