Organ Donation stall at Gayatri Temple,Jaganade Square,Nagpur

  • On the occasion of Guru Purnima i.e 4th July 2023 .Mr.Bulu Behera -MOHAN Foundation Transplant coordinator from Nagpur,was invited By Mr.Manish Rungta ,Manager of Gayatri Temple, Jaganade square to set up a stall on organ donation at their premises.

    Mr.Behera manned the  stall with help of Donor cards, helpline number pamphlets , brochures Standees & banner. The below was discussed with the visitors

    • What is organ donation?
    • Who can donate an organ?
    • What is brain death and natural death?
    • After brain death, which organs and tissues can be donated?
    • After natural death, which tissues can be donated, and what are the time factors?
    • What is the difference between coma and brain death?
    • Is organ donation possible if the patient is in a coma?
    • Information regarding body donation and eye donation
    • What are the legal and ethical implications of organ donation?
    • What does the Transplantation of Human Organs Act of 1994 say about organ donation?
    • What is the role of NOTTO, ROTO, SOTTO, ZTCC, and the MOHAN Foundation in organ donation?
    • Historical aspect of organ donation.

     

    The session was interactive the participants asked the following questions:

     

    • Where is MOHAN Foundation office?
    • What difference between coma & Brain death?
    • What is bone marrow?

    Around 40 participants attended the talk and 12 pledged for organ donation. Mr Bulu Behra urged the participants to check out the MOHAN Foundation website and promoted the Toll-Free Helpline Number.Mr.Manish thanked  Bulu Behera for giving information regarding organ donation.
