Organ Donation awareness at K .P. Grounds

  • On 4th November 2017, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. Ravi Gajbhiya Public Relations Officer of Life Line Blood Bank, Ramdaspeth, Nagpur, to put an organ donation awareness stall at K.P. Grounds, Samvidhan Square, Nagpur.

    This was the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, where many other social activities  were  organized like -  Blood Donation Camp, Organ donation camp, Health checkup camp, First Aid camp. There were some goods and services stalls also.

    Mr. Bulu Behera gave information to visitors on organ donation.  Difference between coma & Brain death. Organ and tissue under different circumstances. Around 50 people visited stall and 6 of them signed pledge form and rest of them take consent form. They will discuss with family and sign consent form. It was indeed and memorable experience because some people came back and wanted to know more about organ donation, Eye donation & whole body donation.

    MOHAN Foundation organ transplant coordinator Mr.Bulu Behera would like to thank Life Line Blood Bank program organizer Mr.Ravi Gajbhiye for arranging the organ donation stall in their camp and to the devotees for coming forward to understand organ donation.

    Question asked by visitors:-

    1) What is the time duration of organ donation and transplantation?

    2) Who is the right person to sign consent form to donate organs?

    3) If someone died in rural areas is it possible for donate organs?
