MOHAN Foundation was invited to offer an awareness talk on “Organ Donation” by Big Bazaar, Royapuram, Chennai on 17th July 2010. Around 90 employees of Big Bazaar took part in the awareness programme. The presentation on “Organ Donation and Transplantation” was done by Ms. Sujatha, Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation. The basic concepts of organ donation, the importance of spreading awareness, role of family, myths and bias about organ donation and few donors’ stories were shared during the presentation.
The participants raised questions regarding the consecutive life of recipients after transplantation, also conditions when a person can not donate his/her organ for transplantation (therapeutic purposes), etc., All the 90 participants pledged for organ donation and obtained a donor card at the end of programme. Great salutation to Big bazaar for its initiative to support such a noble cause. Each participant showed his/her strong determination to support this noble act by sharing the information to his/her own known people.
