On June 3, 2026, MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur setup an Organ Donation Information Desk at Mahathero Buddha Vihar, Nagpur, in collaboration with Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH), Nagpur, during a Blood Donation Camp. The objective of the activity was to spread awareness about organ donation and provide authentic information to the public.
On behalf of MOHAN Foundation, Ms. Neha Sailwar managed the information desk. She actively interacted with visitors and shared detailed information about organ donation, & Whole-Body donation including eligibility criteria, the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act (THOTA), the process of taking an organ donation & Body donation pledge, and the importance of discussing donation decisions with family members.
Ms. Neha also explained the work carried out by MOHAN Foundation in the field of organ donation and transplantation, including awareness activities, grief counselling, transplant coordination, training programs, and the Foundation’s Pan-India initiatives. Informational brochures were distributed to visitors to enhance their understanding of organ donation and encourage them to support the cause.
Participants actively engaged in discussions and raised queries related to organ donation, which were addressed during the interaction. The information desk provided a valuable platform for clarifying misconceptions and motivating individuals to consider organ donation as a life-saving humanitarian act.
Approximately 25 people visited the desk and participated in the awareness activity. Out of them, 3 individuals pledged to become organ donors.
