Organ Donation Information Desk at IGGMCH, Nagpur

  • On 16th February 2026, MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur, set up an Organ Donation Information Desk at Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH) on the occasion of a Blood Donation Camp. The objective of this initiative was to create awareness about organ, tissue, and body donation and to motivate individuals to pledge for donation.

    On behalf of MOHAN Foundation, Ms. Neha Sailwar managed the information desk and actively interacted with visitors, including students, donors, hospital staff and the general public. She provided detailed information on organ donation, tissue donation (such as cornea and skin donation), and body donation for medical education and research, explaining their importance, eligibility criteria and legal aspects.

    Ms. Neha also addressed common myths and misconceptions related to donation and guided interested individuals through the organ and body donation pledge process, helping them fill out pledge forms.

    In addition, Ms. Neha shared information about various training and certificate courses offered by MOHAN Foundation, especially those relevant for students and healthcare aspirants. She explained opportunities such as transplant coordination–related courses and encouraged students to enhance their knowledge and actively participate in promoting organ donation awareness in society.

    Around 150 participants visited the information desk to seek information. As a positive outcome of the initiative, 10 individuals pledged to donate their organs.
