On February 11, 2026, MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur, conducted an Organ Donation Awareness Rally and Street Play at Mandhal village with the objective of creating awareness among villagers about organ donation and motivating them to support this life-saving cause.
On behalf of MOHAN Foundation, Ms. Neha Sailwar and Mr. Dhiraj Kurve guided and coordinated the activity along with participating students. Before the rally, the students were briefed about the importance of organ donation, brain stem death, and the key messages to be conveyed through the rally and street play. Roles were distributed, and students were guided on effective communication with the community.
During the rally, students marched through the main areas of the village holding placards with strong awareness messages and raising motivational slogans such as “Angadaan – Jeevandaan,” “Ek Donor, Anek Jeevan,” “Angadaan Mahadaan,” and “Donate Organs, Save Lives.” The placards and slogans attracted the attention of villagers, sparked curiosity, and helped convey the message of organ donation in a simple and impactful manner.
Students were given sufficient time to practice the street play under the guidance of Ms. Neha Sailwar and Mr. Dhiraj Kurve. The street play was later performed at the central point of the village, where a large number of villagers had gathered. The performance focused on clearing myths and misconceptions about organ donation, explaining its legality, and highlighting how a single donor can save multiple lives.
After the performance, the MOHAN Foundation team interacted with villagers, answered their questions, and shared authentic information regarding organ donation, eligibility criteria, and the process of taking an organ donation pledge. The villagers responded positively and showed keen interest in supporting the cause.
The rally and street play together served as an effective medium to spread awareness and encourage community participation in organ donation.
Around 70 student & villagers participated in the rally and street play, making the activity impactful and successful.
