Organ Donation Awareness Session at CNI, Nagpur

  • On February 26, 2026, MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur, conducted an Organ Donation Awareness Session at Church of North India (CNI), Nagpur), with the objective of spreading awareness about organ donation and sensitizing participants from diverse backgrounds.

    On behalf of MOHAN Foundation, Ms. Veena Wathore facilitated the awareness session and shared detailed information on organ donation and transplantation, with special emphasis on the concept of brain stem death, its medical certification, and its importance in deceased organ donation. She addressed common myths and misconceptions and explained how timely consent can help save multiple lives.

    Following this, Ms. Neha Sailwar took the lead and shared information about the training and educational courses offered by MOHAN Foundation. She also explained the process of taking an organ donation pledge, guiding participants on how individuals can register as organ donors and the importance of pledging to express one’s intent to donate. Additionally, she presented real-life organ donation stories, which helped participants understand the life-saving impact of organ donation and motivated them to support the cause.

    The session reached around 20 participants, representing a culturally and geographically diverse group. Participants included individuals from South Africa, Indonesia, and various regions of India such as the North Eastern states, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh, making the interaction enriching and inclusive. The session encouraged open interaction, with participants actively listening, sharing reflections, and expressing appreciation for the clarity and sensitivity with which the topic was addressed.
