On October 20, 2024, Mr. Gabriel Pereira, an Organ Donation Ambassador from MOHAN Foundation, set up an Organ Donation Information Desk at a Blood Donation Camp organized by St. John the Baptist Church and Caring Souls, in collaboration with the Goa Medical College Blood Bank, Bambolim. The camp ran from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The event received support from Mr. Belden D’Souza and his family from Candolim. It was held in the church hall, where parishioners had been informed in advance by the parish pastoral council and other church groups. Approximately 20 individuals attended the camp, of which 13 were eligible to donate blood, while 7 were unable to do so.
At the event, Mr. Gabriel presented a short animated video on organ donation, created by Shweta Gupta. He also distributed around 40 FAQs and spoke with parishioners about the importance of organ donation, encouraging them to pledge their support.
