Dr. Ravi Wankhede was invited by Mr. Manish Shukla Addl. General Manager & Principal of The Regional Telecom Training Center, Nagpur, a unit of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), a Government of India Enterprise to talk to the Trainee Officers of BSNL attending from all over the country. The session was held on 3rd December 2014. At the outset Mrs. Shweta Shelgaonkar gave brief outline of the subject and also introduced Dr. Ravi Wankhede.
Dr. Wankhede gave an elaborate audio-visual talk on the importance of organ donation, particularly from those who are declared Brain dead. He touched upon historical, religious, statistical, social aspect of the subject to a packed impressive hall. He particularly told the trainees that they should take the message to their States where the work of transplantation is not carried out.
At the end there were many queries which were answered to the satisfaction of the audience. Mr. Manish Shukla Addl. General Manager & Principal thanked Dr. Ravi Wankhede for the time and dedication on the subject and presented a memento of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited. About 120 people attended the program. 36 participant signed the pledge to donate organs.
