On 26th August 2012, the MOHAN Foundation team was invited to give an awareness talk on Organ Donation to the members of Aadhavan Arumbakkam Lions Club. Ms. Jessi, Transplant Coordinator, explained the concepts of organ donation and its importance in today’s world after the screening of an Organ Donation short film. The film captured the audience’s interest and they listened to the talk, thereafter, with rapt attention.
More than 50 members were present for the talk and all of them pledged to donate their organs by picking up a Donor card at the end of the session. Many members took extra Donor cards for their neighbours and friends too. Mr. K. R. Kannan, Public Relation Officer & DCP – Anti Smoking of the club took the initiative to organize the talk after listening to the presentation by MOHAN Foundation at the ‘Nalloor Vattum’ forum (Circle of Good People) on 28th July 2012.
