Updated on Monday, August 27, 2012
  • ‘Nalloor Vattum’ is a group of NGOs and people who serve society in different sectors to empower individuals. Its aim is to make every individual think about becoming a responsible Indian citizen by contributing to society and bringing about a change. ‘Nalloor Vattum’ (Circle of Good People) was initiated by Mr. Bala whose zeal enthuses all those who come into contact with him. Every month the members of the group meet and discuss an action plan which will be executed in the forthcoming month. The meeting also offers a platform to NGOs new to the group to share their experiences and see how there can be a synergy amongst them. MOHAN Foundation was invited for one of such meeting held on 28th July 2012 at RICH India Civil Service Academy, Kodambakkam, Chennai.

Dr. Sumana Navin and Ms. Veena, MOHAN Foundation, addressed the meeting. The meeting provided the Foundation with a platform to apprise the group about the importance of organ donation. It also helped us expand our network with other NGOs and individuals. Volunteers/activists, students and journalists participated in the meeting.  53 social entrepreneurs who took part in the meeting pledged to donate their organs by picking up a Donor card. They also took additional cards for their family members and friends. Mr. K.R. Kannan of the Aadhavan Arumbakkam Lions Club invited the MOHAN Foundation team to talk to the members of the club about organ donation at their forthcoming meeting on 26th August 2012.
