On May 22, 2026, MOHAN Foundation successfully conducted an Organ Donation Awareness Session at K C Roy Hospital, Lalpur Chowk, Ranchi. The session was attended by 08 nursing staff members who actively participated in the program and showed keen interest in learning about the importance of organ donation and transplantation.
The primary objective of the session was to enhance awareness regarding organ donation, address common myths and misconceptions, and encourage healthcare professionals to become advocates for this noble cause. The session highlighted the critical shortage of organs for transplantation and emphasized how organ donation can save and improve multiple lives.
During the presentation, participants were informed about the different types of organ donation, including living and deceased donation. Special emphasis was placed on brain death and the legal and ethical aspects of organ donation in India. The role of healthcare professionals in identifying potential donors, counseling families, and promoting awareness within the community was also discussed in detail.
Interactive discussions were held throughout the session, allowing participants to ask questions and clarify doubts related to organ donation procedures, eligibility criteria, and transplantation processes. Various myths associated with organ donation were addressed with factual information, helping participants gain a better understanding of the subject.
