On 7th & 8th June, 2012 MOHAN Foundation's team conducted awareness sessions on Organ Donation for the employees of VIOM based at Gurgaon, a leading telecom tower company and a part of SREI group. About 25 employees, divided in two groups attended the sessions, that were conducted over 2 days. Topics discussed were ways of organ donation, who can donate, brain death & its diagnosis and how it is different from natural death. The employees were very inquisitive and showed keen interest to know more about brain death and its causes and whether any law in India regulates such activities. A detailed discussion followed on the THO act and how it regulates organ donation and transplantation.
About 6-8 donor cards were distributed. Others, who wanted to take time to discuss with family members before pledging their organs, diligently took note of the online version of our donor cards.
