A meeting was organized by the Rotary Club 3232 for their members on May 12, 2023 at E Hotel, Royapettah, Chennai. The agenda of the meeting was to initiate a project of Organ Donation. The first event was to create awareness among the leaders of different clubs.
The session commenced with welcome speech by Mr. Ashok Khatri who also introduced the speaker Dr Sunil Shroff, Managing Trustee, MOHAN Foundation. Dr Shroff walked the audience through the concept of Organ Donation and Transplantation and how it can impact the lives of others. He explained the concept of brain death and how one simple “Yes” will give 2nd chance to 8 patients and their families.
The session was interactive and many questions were raised. The session concluded with vote of thanks from Mr Narendra Sanghi of behalf of the Rotary Club. Mr. Ganesh, Marketing Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation, distributed information brochures on organ donation and pined green ribbons to all the participants.
Totally 14 members participated and all 14 of them pledged as organ donors, few even picked up donor cards for their family members, in assurance they will register as organ donor.
