Ambai Arts College is affiliated to the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli and stands for the pursuit of sound learning, the building of character and for the enlightenment of spiritual truth.An awareness program on understanding of Organ Donation was organized on March 10, 2023 for the students and Faculty of Arts of Ambai Arts College. 150 students and 10 teaching staffs are also participated.
The session started with a short Inaugural Ceremony. Ms. Vijaya Lakshmi M (MMM CHS Intern) began the session with an introduction of MOHAN Foundation. This was followed with a talk on the Concepts of Organ Donation and Transplantation which included who, what, when and how donation can happen. She explained brain death and about the law on Donation and Transplantation. The process of pledging was explained.
In between the session she played a video explaining brain stem death and a recipient testimonial video. There was an active Q & A session. Then she spoke of the information service: Organ Donation Helpline 1800 103 7100.
MOHAN Foundation, extends its gratitude to Dr K V Soundararjan, Principal and Associate Prof. Ms Joe Celin of the Ambai Arts College and hearty thanks to all the students and staff for their support and enthusiasm in participation.
