On August 21, 2024, Mr. Gabriel Pereira, an organ donation ambassador from the MOHAN Foundation, was invited to give an organ donation awareness talk to the members of the Rotary Club of Parvari Blaze, Goa.
Mr. Pereira introduced himself and the Foundation, sharing his passion for spreading awareness about organ donation. He informed the club members that approximately 65 people in Goa are currently awaiting kidney transplants and emphasized the importance of educating the public about organ donation to aid those suffering from end-stage organ failure.
During his presentation, Mr. Pereira explained the concept of organ donation using a PowerPoint presentation. He also advised those with diabetes and hypertension to regularly monitor their creatinine levels, check for protein traces in their urine, and undergo regular eye check-ups.
Rtn. Raja Gadekar, the Club President, thanked Mr. Pereira for his informative talk and expressed the club's interest in inviting him to speak at the panchayat level in the future.
