On Friday, July 17, 2026, MOHAN Foundation conducted an organ donation awareness session at Cloudnine Hospital, East of Kailash Branch, New Delhi. Ms. Simran Anand, Programme Officer; and Ms. Reema Arya, Programme Officer, MOHAN Foundation, NCR, facilitated the session.
The objective of the session was to enhance awareness among healthcare professionals about the importance of organ donation, brain stem death, the organ donation and transplantation process, and the vital role healthcare workers play in promoting deceased organ donation.
Ms. Anand delivered an informative and interactive presentation, addressing common myths and misconceptions surrounding organ donation while encouraging participants to become advocates for this life-saving cause. The hospital staff actively participated throughout the session by asking thoughtful questions and engaging in meaningful discussions, reflecting their keen interest in the subject.
A particularly touching moment during the session occurred when one of the nursing staff members shared her family's personal experience. She recounted that her elder sister had suffered a severe brain injury following an accidental fall after childbirth and, despite all medical efforts, passed away. During that difficult time, the family made the courageous decision to donate her organs enabling others to receive the gift of life. Her heartfelt account deeply moved everyone present and reinforced the profound impact and significance of organ donation.
The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer discussion, during which participants clarified their doubts and expressed their appreciation for the awareness initiative.
35 hospital staff members attended and actively participated in the awareness session.
