On April 21, 2025,Ms. Prarthana visited the Zepto Store in Nerul, Navi Mumbai, to conduct an Organ Donation Awareness Talk for the store’s staff. The session was organized as part of MOHAN Foundation’s ongoing efforts to reach diverse communities and workplaces with vital information on organ donation.
The talk began with an introduction to the concept of organ donation. Ms. Prarthana explained the types of organ donors — living and deceased — and elaborated on key topics such as brain death and cardiac death, organs and tissues that can be donated, the process of organ donation and transplantation in India, legal and ethical considerations, and the significance of eye donation.
The session was attended by 12 staff members and actively asking questions related to eligibility criteria, age limits, religious beliefs, and the procedure for pledging. Many of them expressed surprise upon learning that one donor can save up to eight lives and significantly enhance the lives of several others through tissue donation.
To encourage further engagement, Ms. Prarthana distributed informative pamphlets and shared details about how to register as an organ donor online. She also emphasized the importance of family consent and urged attendees to communicate their decision with their loved ones.
The session concluded with a group photo, where participants held an “I Support Organ Donation” placard, symbolizing their support for the noble cause. The team appreciated the initiative and thanked Ms. Prarthana for her time and for creating awareness.
