Organ Donation Awareness Stall installed as an initiative under Road Safety Program

  • On 4th Dec 2019, MOHAN Foundation was invited at 68th Annual Conference of the Neurological Society of India as an initiative under Road Safety Program in association with Rotary Club for stalling an information desk at Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre located in Powai, Mumbai.

    Dr Jimmy held few frequent awareness sessions and introduced MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision and philanthropy. She introduced the concept of Organ and Tissue donation. She also explained the types of death viz. Cardiac and Brain Death and the organs and tissues that can be donated. She elaborated the procedure about bone donation which was new topic for the crowd. She also described that tissue donation (skin & eyes) can happen even at home. She also discussed about Organ Donations that can happen in case of Brain Dead case and number of lives that can be saved by giving the examples of successful transplant stories articles and news about green corridor which was somewhat familiar to the students.

    Guest of Honour Divya Jagdale film actress, Bollywood actor & choreographer Vikas Saxena and RJ Devangana anchored the whole programme.

    About 50 people and Navy officials visited the stall. Few pledges were taken by students & few were filled online. We thank Dr V D Sinha (Neurosurgeon from SMS Hospital Jaipur) and Colonel A Sreenivas for inviting us and supporting the cause of Organ Donation.
