On June 2, 2026, MOHAN Foundation conducted an organ donation awareness session at Orchid Hospital, Ranchi, with the objective of educating patients, attendants, and hospital visitors about the importance of organ and tissue donation. A total of 22 participants attended the session.
The session was led by Mr. Mukesh Kumar Singh from MOHAN Foundation. He explained the significance of organ donation and how a single donor can save multiple lives. The participants were informed about the different types of organ donation, including living organ donation and deceased organ donation. Special emphasis was given to the concept of brain death, its medical and legal aspects, and how organs donated after brain death can help patients suffering from end-stage organ failure.
The session also addressed several common myths and misconceptions associated with organ donation. Participants were encouraged to discuss their concerns and ask questions. They actively interacted with the speaker and sought clarification on topics such as eligibility for organ donation, the organ donation pledge process, and the role of family consent in deceased organ donation. All queries were answered in a simple, informative, and interactive manner, helping participants gain a better understanding of the subject.
Informational materials on organ donation were distributed among the attendees to reinforce the key messages shared during the session. The participants appreciated the awareness initiative and expressed that such educational programs are essential for increasing public understanding and encouraging positive attitudes toward organ donation.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks to the hospital management and all participants for their valuable time and cooperation. Overall, the program was successful in spreading awareness, dispelling myths, and motivating people to support the noble cause of organ donation, thereby contributing to the mission of saving lives through increased awareness and informed decision-making
