Organ Donation Awareness Session Ц Kottivakkam Kuppam Community

  • As part of the seven-day community outreach camp organized by VHS–M.A. Chidambaram College of Nursing, MOHAN Foundation was invited to conduct an Organ Donation Awareness Program on September 3, 2025, for the fishermen community of Kottivakkam Kuppam. The session was held at the Community Hall, with the aim of educating and empowering local residents about the noble cause of organ donation.

    The program began with a warm welcome by Ms. Uma Lakshmi, NSS Officer, who introduced the guest speaker, Mr. Ganesh C, Senior Project Executive, MOHAN Foundation.

    Mr. Ganesh delivered an informative session highlighting:

    • The importance of organ donation and how one donor can save up to 9 lives.
    • The concept of brain death and the role of the State Government in transplantation.
    • Myths and misconceptions surrounding organ donation.
    • Safeguards against scams and the effective use of the Organ Donation Helpline 1800 103 7100.

    The session was well-received, with 68 community members actively participating.
