
On August 12, 2025, an organ donation awareness session was conducted at RTO office, Wadala, Mumbai. The session aimed educating common public present at the office. A Total of 60 people attended the session and 10 people pledged for organ donation.
Mrs. Rajeshree Chandankar started a session with an introductory talk about MOHAN foundation and its work. She educated people on organ donation, differentiated a donor and a recipient. She clarified difference between living and deceased organ donation.
She elaborated the distinction between cardiac death and brain stem death. She also covered tissues and organs that can be donated in cardiac death and brain stem death. She highlighted that how a Brain stem death person can save up to 9 lives.
She also made participants aware about the willingness to donate the organs mentioned in the online exam of RTO. She also added what is donor card, its importance and highlighted on pledge to donate the organs after discussing with the family.
The session was interactive with people raising queries on organ donation and donor card.
