On February 14, 2025, MOHAN Foundation organized an Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Session at CIDCO Garden, Baman Dongri, Navi Mumbai. The session was conducted by Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi, who engaged with the local community to spread awareness about the significance of organ and tissue donation.
During the session, Ms. Prarthana explained the concept of organ donation, differentiating between cardiac death and brain death, and highlighted the organs and tissues that can be donated in both scenarios. She also educated attendees about the importance of eye donation, skin donation, and bone donation, along with advancements in medical science, such as hand transplants.
She addressed common myths and misconceptions surrounding organ donation and provided factual insights to help the community make informed decisions. Additionally, she emphasized the need for family discussions on organ donation and encouraged individuals to carry a donor card as a commitment to the cause.
Approximately 16 members attended the session, actively participating in discussions and showing interest in learning more about organ donation. Informative flyers were also distributed to the local residents to promote organ donation in their community.
