Organ Donation Awareness (Session 2) at Vijaya Health Center

  • Vijaya Health Center was established with a vision to provide exemplary physical and emotional care for patients and their families. The year 2022 is their golden jubilee and as part of the celebrations, they planned to create awareness among the staff about this cause. 

    MOHAN Foundation was given an opportunity to create awareness on Organ Donation on November 10, 2022 for around 120 nursing  and other staff. The awareness session was conducted in the  NRI MET auditorium of the  health centre. Mr Ganesh & Ms. Arshiya Fathima H were the resource persons for the session. Ms Vedikha and Ms Preetha, interns from MMM College of Health Science set up the welcome and information desk at the entry of the auditorium.  

    Dr V Ganesan, Academic Director & Clinical Safety Officer of Vijaya Health Centre started the session with the importance of Organ donation. He welcomed the MOHAN Foundation team. 

    Mr. Ganesh (Marketing Coordinator) explained on the Concept of Organ Donation and Transplantation which included who, what and when donation can happen and brain death in detail. When and how voluntary body donation is done was also explained by him. He also spoke of the myths  that the community has about organ donation and also gave some examples of movie that have depicted organ donation in a bad light.

    Donation of organs post COVID infection and recovery

    Recipient health after transplantation

    Procedure to register for voluntary body donation

     

    MOHAN Foundation thanks Dr. Ganesan and his team for all the arrangements. All 120 staff of the helath centre picked a donor card.
