Organ Donation Awareness Conducted at Rotary Club Conference in Trichy

  • MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness program to the members and participants of Rotary Club District Conference on 4th February 2012. It was a 3-day conference where speakers from various fields were invited to give talk on social issues and find means and ways to address it.

     

    The chief guest Shri. Muthu Karuppan IPS appreciated the works done in India to eradicate polio. He also invited people to join hands against corruption. Then MOHAN Foundation team was introduced and was asked to give a speech on the topic “Giving Without Opening Your Purse”. Mr. Pratap Gokuldas and Mr. Arun Gokuldas spoke on the importance of eye donation and blood donation respectively followed by Mr. Christopher on Organ Donation and Transplantation. MOHAN Foundation brochures and donor cards were distributed. A short film was also screened. Nearly 700 people participated and almost everybody pledged for a donor card. Mr. Ramesh, President, Rotary Club thanked the speakers and urged the audience to think seriously about Organ Donation.  District Governor, Rotary Club, California along with Mr. Pratap Gokuldas and Mr. Arun Gokuldas presented the medal of honor for those who donated blood for more than 100 times. He wished MOHAN Foundation all success in spearheading the deceased organ donation program here in India.
