Organ Donation Awareness Campaign at Uthandi Govt School, Sengeniamman Koil, Chennai

• On 8^th November 2015 MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. Sundaram, Community leader to take part of their community school’s Centenary Celebration. As a part of their celebration they wanted to add a value to this day  so he  invited MOHAN Foundation to put up  organ donation  information stall to create awareness among the community about the importance of organ doantion.

   

  Ms. Sunitha A T., Transplant Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation manned the stall. She explained the concept on Organ Donation by one to one interaction.  During the discussion she covered the following topics:

  • Importance and need of organ donation
  • Difference between Natural Death, Coma and Brain Death
  • Organs and tissues that can be donated in cardiac death and brain death
  • Eye donation
  • Importance of Donor card and helpline number

  
  Nearly 100 people who visited the stall and 50 of them pledged for organ donation.
