Online Webinar on Organ Donation conducted with NGO Being Samajik and Sansritik Sanstha

  • On 21st June 2020, Ms Pratima Phadatare (Transplant Coordinator) working at B.J. Medical College and Sassoon Hospital, Pune conducted an online awareness session on Organ Donation along with NGO Being Samajik and Sansritik Sanstha, Jabalpur. Mr Prabhat Barman (Organizer) of Being Samajik or Sansritik Sanstha, Jabalpur promoted & coordinated the session.

    Mr. Prabhat Barman introduced Mr Harsh Parmani, a well-known celebrity known for promoting Blood Donation was the Chief Guest for the session. He spoke about importance of Blood Donation amid COVID situation.

    Ms Pratima Phadatare introduced to MOHAN Foundation its Mission, Vision and then she explained the concept of organ and tissue donation. Then Dr Jimmy Gupta explained the types of death i.e. cardiac death, brain death and she explains on brain death declaration through Apnea test and procedure of deceased organ donation and live organ donation. She elaborated the procedure of skin, eye and bone donation.

    After that Ms Pratima Phadatare explained Barriers of organ donation i.e. myths and facts related to Organ Donation and how it impacts Organ Donation. She also explained about the Donor Card and how one can become an Organ Donor and elaborated the volunteering training activities conducted by MOHAN Foundation for volunteers interested to support the noble cause of organ donation. Dr Jimmy answered all the queries of the participants promptly

    About 30 participants attended session & pledged online to become Organ Donors. We convey Special Thanks to Mr Harsh Parmani for attending our session & supporting the cause of Organ Donation.
