Online Course on Transplant Coordination Professional Certificate (July 03, 2025 - August 14, 2025)

  • The 'Transplant Coordination Professional Certificate', a six-week online course was hosted by the MOHAN Foundation from July 03 - August 14, 2025 with a total participation of 62 candidates (60 from India, 1 from Indonesia and 1 from Singapore).

    The important elements of the course included access to the e-learning platform with study materials and resources, online assignments and assessments to reinforce learning, and weekly interactive webinars featuring professionals in organ donation and transplantation.

     

    The webinars covered the essential topics pertaining to:

    • Concepts of organ donation and transplantation
    • Transplantation of Human Organs Act and Key regulatory bodies
    • Brainstem death - Concept, Identification and Certification
    • Approaching families for organ donation
    • Coordinating a deceased donor transplant program
    • Role of a transplant coordinator in living organ donation
    • Ethical aspects of organ donation and transplantation

    • Mr. Senthil Kumar, Senior Transplant Coordinator and Grief Counsellor, Government Stanley Medical College and Hospital, Chennai
    • Mr. Girish Shetty, Chief Transplant Manager, Apollo Group of Hospitals, Telangana & Andhra Pradesh

     

    An online examination was conducted on 14th August, 2025 and candidates were issued a course completion certificate on successful completion of the online examination.

    The webinar was clear, useful, and well-presented. I learned a lot. Adding more interaction

    and real-life examples could make it even better. I also feel the MOHAN Foundation login

    should remain open for registered

    The overall course content and structure was good. When I attend the course, I got more

    new knowledge regarding different aspects of different types of transplants. Apart from that

    I learned transplantation process in different countries. Overall, this course was help me to

    develop more skills as a Transplant Coordinator.
