Online Awareness Session on Organ Donation for the Students of Chanakya Groups of Institution, Bhuj, Gujarat

  • On 19th February 2022, MOHAN Foundation organized awareness talk on organ donation for students of Chanakya Groups of Institution, Bhuj, Gujarat and around 45 students attended the session.

     

    At the beginning of the session, moderator Ms. Maitry welcomed Dr. Priyanka Tiku, Intern and she thank Chanakya Group for the giving the platform to present.

     

    Dr. Priyanka Tiku began the session by explaining the full form of MOHAN. She informed all participants that MOHAN is acronym not name. She explained about what is donation and transplantation with cardinal concepts with the help of power point presentation. The topics which she covered in detail are as follow:

    • Organ donation and its need
    • When and how does organ donation take place
    • Organs that can be donated during life and after death
    • The transplant waiting list in India
    • Brain death
    • Difference between brain and coma
    • Contradictions to organ donation
    • Transplant law
    • Role of MOHAN Foundation
    • Organ donation MYTHS AND FACTS

     

    The entire students group got motivated and convinced to support organ donation. The awareness talk ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Priyanka Tiku. She encouraged the students to aware the society bout organ donation and also how transplant can change lives are extremely powerful. She ended up saying donate organs is a generous and a worthwhile decision that can save lives.
