  On 25^th November 2022, MOHAN Foundation was invited to conduct an awareness organ donation for ICICI Foundation and Academy, Karnal, Haryana. This programme was organised in association with Transplant Help the Poor Foundation and ICICI Foundation. Mr. Ashwani Sharma from ICICI Foundation organised this programme. As a part of their campaign, sessions to raise awareness being held at other ICICI Foundation locations in various cities across India. Around 90 trainees and staff attended the session.

   

  Mr. Ashwani Sharma welcomed the MOHAN Foundation faculty and introduced them to the students and the purpose of the talk. Mr. Sudhir Dewan addressed the audience telling them about how important is organ donation and it provides the opportunity to improve the quality of life and save lives of others. It is the greatest gift one can ever give.

  In this talk, she explained the following points: -

  • Organ donation types and who can be a donor
  • The status of organ donation in India and their requirements vs donation rates
  • She explained 5 myths on organ donation with their corresponding reality check
  • Difference between circulatory death and brain death
  • Age is not a constraint in donating their organs.
  • Real life story of an organ transplant patient was shared with the participants
  • Importance of the donor card
  • How to pledge or sign up for organ donation on MOHAN Foundation's website
  • MOHAN Foundation’s mission & vision

   

  At the end of the session, Mr. Ashwani Sharma gave a vote of thanks. He said that the session was very interesting and informative. We thank Transplant Help the Poor Foundation and ICICI Foundation for organizing this event and supporting the noble cause about organ donation.
