Online Awareness Session on Organ Donation Conducted for the Students of ICCI Academy Jammu, J&K

  Mr. Mahender Shukla delivering vote of thanks

  On 24^th December 2022, MOHAN Foundation was invited to conduct an awareness organ donation for ICICI Foundation and Academy. This programme was organised by Transplant Help the Poor Foundation and ICICI Foundation. Mr. Mahender Shukla from ICICI Foundation organised this programme. Around 62 trainees and staff attended the session.

   

  Mr. Sudhir Dewan addressed the audience telling them about how important is organ donation and it provides the opportunity to improve the quality of life and save lives of others. It is the greatest gift one can ever give.

   

  Participants were given an introduction and presentation on organ donation and brain death by Mr. Sudhir Dewan.

   

  In this talk, He explained the following points: -

  • Organ donation types and who can be a donor
  • The status of organ donation in India and their requirements vs donation rates
  • He challenged 5 myths with 5 facts on organ donation
  • Difference between natural death and brain death
  • Age is not a constraint in donating their organs.
  • Real life stories of an organ transplant being shared with the participants
  • Importance of the donor card
  • How to pledge or sign up for organ donation on MOHAN Foundation's website
  • MOHAN Foundation’s mission & vision

   

  At the end of the session, Mr. Mahender Shukla gave a vote of thanks. He said that the session was very interesting and informative.
