On March 15, 2025, Naya Savera Nayi Umang (NSNU) hosted a webinar for its members about organ donation. MOHAN Foundation was invited to speak and Dr Hemal Kanvinde Q&A officer was the resource person.
NSNU strives to enhance the quality of life for senior adults and has locations in Lucknow, New Delhi, and Kolkata. Their goal is to promote health and wellbeing. This verticle served as the venue for the discussion. About fifteen people joined the discussion.
The speaker was presented by NSNU President Mr. Sami Saran, and the session was led by Dr. Hemal. She provided a summary of the MOHAN Foundation's activities. She went on to discuss the why, what, when, who, and how of organ donation. The causes, certification, and brain death were described. She discussed the procedure for registering and receiving a cadaver door organ as well as how to sign up as an organ donor using internet portals.
She discussed the goals of the NGO and anticipated additional possibilities with partners to raise awareness of this issue.
Following the session, some topics of discussion included donor and cost management, the failure rate of organ retrieval from a donor, the significance of family in fulfilling the wish, and future plans to start organ donation work in Lucknow.
The MOHAN Foundation is grateful that NSNU has decided to include organ donation in their project.
