Naam Thamizhar Kactchi Promotes Organ Donation in Slums

  • On 20th February 2015 an interactive session on organ donation was organized by Naam Thamizhar Kactchi, Greams Road, Chennai. The movement president Mr. Murugesan felt that Organ Donation is very meaningful after death so he invited Cadaver Transplant Programme to share about the concept of organ donation to their party members. Mr. Prakash K, Transplant Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation facilitated the session.

     

    The following topics were explained to the group:

    • Importance of organ donation
    • Types of donations – live and deceased donation
    • Difference between Natural Death, Coma and Brain Death
    • Organs that can be donated in cardiac death and drain death
    • Eye donation
    • Preservation time of organs
    • Importance of Donor card

     

    Totally 75 members took donor cards and supported the good cause.
