Dr Tewari is Additional Chief Medical Superintendent at the Pratap Nagar railway hospital and has been volunteering to help develop the deceased donation program in Vadodara. Some personal reasons got her involved in this cause and since then she has been dedicating her time and efforts to counsel families of brain dead patients encouraging them to donate organs to save the lives of others.

The meeting was held to discuss the various on ground challenges faced by hospitals in identification, declaration and maintenance of brain dead patients. It was collectively decided that MOHAN Foundation will organize a one-day workshop on ‘Workshop on Strengthening Organ Donation and Transplant Processes’ which will cover the legal aspects, brain death identification & maintenance, grief counseling & making the ask and a panel discussion of significant stakeholders. It was agreed that the workshop and CME would be held at SSGH Medical College, which is a non-transplant retrieval centre.
