

Ms Pallavi Kumar was invited as a faculty for the11th Organ Donation Masterclass held at M S Ramaiah Advanced Learning Center, Bengalore on January 10-11, 2025, organised by LTSI (Liver Transplant Society of India) and Medtronic.
Thw two-day workshop focused on various aspects of deceased organ donation and covered topics such as:
- The Transplantation of Huan Organs and Tissue Act
- Diagnosis of brain death and maintenance of a deceased donor
- Coordination of a multi organ retrieval
- Principles of organ preservation
- Introfuction to DCD and NRP
- Machine perfusion etc.
Ms Pallavi Kumar spoke on “Grief Counselling and Making the Ask for Organ Donation” in which she covered various aspects of grief and the approach to family counseling.
The second day of the master class involved setting up organ retrieval wet labs to train aspiring transplant surgeons the tips and techniques for a safe organ recovery on cadavers.
